A beautiful house should always be spotless and smell wonderful. You can remove visible dust, dirt, spills, stains, grime and mould from practically all surfaces in your home with regular housekeeping tasks and a little elbow grease. However, a lot of individuals ignore unpleasant odours that remain in rooms, particularly the smell of eggs.
It might have been that you were against the clock preparing your breakfast before heading to work, accidents happen where you drop one or two eggs on the floor. And what makes things even worse is when your floor starts smelling like sulphur.
Although removing the eggs from the floor is typically simple, the devil is in the details. To put it another way, there are numerous ways to clean broken eggs, but only a select few of them can eliminate the odour.
Here’s how to eliminate the egg smell from your floor.
- Remove the egg from the floor
- Grab a set of rubber gloves to protect your hands before you begin. Open the windows if you can let fresh air in whilst cleaning up
- You can either pick it up by hand (while wearing gloves) or with a scooping tool like a dustpan
- Any solid objects should be put in the bin
- Continue doing this until the floor is free of all the egg
- After you’ve gotten rid of all the broken eggs and residue put them in the bin and take outside the house
- Clean extra liquid
There may be some leftover liquid even after you have cleaned up the solid mess. Before you can begin cleansing and addressing the stench, that must be cleaned up. Once all the liquid has been absorbed, wring them out in a bucket using a clean towel or cloth. Gently dab or blot the liquid while it is on a surface to avoid pressing or forcing it deeper into the carpet fibres or hard flooring. - Use an enzyme cleaner
Now is the time to get an enzyme cleaner if you don’t already have one in your cabinet. The ideal egg smell remover is Bio one™ because it is specifically created to make both soft and hard surfaces hygienic and odour-free. The solution uses potent organic enzymes to attack the bacterial root cause of that nasty pong. It is completely natural and free of toxins. It assists in eliminating and preventing the growth of any odour by killing 99.9% of bacteria. Additionally, it is eco-friendly, child-safe, and pet-safe so you may use it wherever you need to without endangering the environment. - Mix the solution
To help you fight off persistent egg odours, Bio one™ odour eliminator + surface cleaner is available in a concentrated form. Grab a spray bottle and combine 12 millilitres of the concentrated product with 100 millilitres of water to create 2.1 litres of solution from a 250-millilitre container. Simply follow the markers on your Bio one™ mix + spray bottle if you have one. - Treat the area
You can treat the dirty area now that all the egg and residue is out of the way. Spray Bio one™ liberally on the areas of the carpet or hard floors that came into contact with the egg. Spray the area until it is very damp, making sure the surface is completely saturated. - Leave to soak
It’s time to let Bio one™ soak in deeper after you can tell the carpet is completely covered with it. Soaking will enable the product to penetrate the carpet fibres deeply, ensuring that any difficult-to-reach areas are not missed. This is when the dangerous and offensive bacteria are broken down and eliminated by Bio one™. Give the product five to ten minutes to soak. - Evaluate and reapply as necessary
Check to see if the egg and odours have disappeared by blotting or wiping the area with a clean cloth. If the egg has spilt on the carpet, instead of using kitchen paper, use a cloth to avoid having bits fall onto the area. Ensure the areas are still a little damp because that is when Bio one™ is most effective at killing germs. Reapply the area if necessary and stay away for an additional five minutes. - Scrub and let air dry
When the flooring has been completely treated, blot or wipe the area once more to remove any remaining product. Your carpet should now smell sweetly like Grapefruit and Tea Tree after the egg odour has been eliminated. Allow the floor to finish drying after the excess has been removed.
What are enzymes?
Don’t be fooled to think that because enzymes are natural they are less effective than chemical cleaners. Enzymes are nature’s very own powerful cleaning tools. Making them the go to choice for customers who do not want to spray harmful chemicals around their home.
Simply put, enzymes are all around us performing millions of important tasks in our bodies and in nature every single day. They are a type of protein that act like a biological catalyst to speed up the break down of organic compounds.
Similarly to how saliva, (which contains enzymes), initiates the digestion process by breaking down food in our mouths, cleaning enzymes use the same ‘enzymatic digestion’ to effectively break down and eradicate the organic proteins present in urine, faeces, vomit, drool, dirt, food, and more.
This process not only makes cleaning easier but also prevents the growth of bad bacteria – the root cause of those unpleasant odours – in the air, on surfaces, and within the fibres of your soft furnishings.
Try out Bio one™today, vomit and the other nasties is what nature created enzymes for.
